American Board of Plastic Surgery
15 Year(s) ExperienceDr. M.J. Trovato is a board-certified aesthetic and reconstructive surgeon with specializations in microsurgery, craniofacial, pediatric plastic surgery, and anti-aging medicine, as well as non surgical procedures in cosmetic medicine. He takes a highly individualized approach to provide each patient with the highest level of care.
He is a founding member of the Pediatric Plastic Surgery Institute and directs its craniofacial surgery fellowship. He is also a clinical instructor at Baylor University Medical Center, Methodist Dallas Hospital, and Texas A&M Medical School. When he is not transforming the lives of his patients or educating the next generation of elite plastic surgeons, Dr. Trovato travels the globe with the Operation Smile Foundation, performing difficult surgeries that restore the smiles of children with cleft palates.
His passion propelled him to excel at Duke University, where he graduated cum laude and received an offer to the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honors Society at Rutgers for his M.D. From there, his desire to learn more about plastic surgery’s healing properties led him to sub-specializations in microsurgery, craniofacial, and pediatric surgery. He trained under the nation’s best surgeons, with fellowships in Hand and Microsurgery at the Buncke Clinic, with John Q. Owsley, M.D. in San Francisco, and in Craniofacial Surgery at UTSW Dallas.
